Core Session-Accessible Online Course Content (Jerry Slezak and Shannon Hauser, Digital Learning Support and Danielle Smith, Office of Disability Resources). This session will show faculty the basics of creating accessible content for an online course based on a ‘flipped classroom’ model. Demonstrations for creating an accessible slide deck, best practices in Screencast-O-Matic, and captioning using YouTube will be provided. A short Q&A will occur at the end. It is recommended for any faculty member, but especially those that have not taught online before or whose only online teaching experience was during remote teaching in Spring 2020.
Additional Materials (Andi Smith, CAS-Historic Preservation) You already have lecture slides. What now? This session will focus on supporting materials: videos, pics, memes, and other content to keep students engaged.
How to Send the Students to the Library When the Library is Online (Rosemary Arneson and Paul Boger, Simpson Library) Library services are going to look different this year! The challenges of providing services during a pandemic are many, but we are working together to find ways we can overcome them. We’ll share some of the feedback we have received from students after the spring semester and encourage conversations about how to adapt traditional library research assignments to the new normal.
