Generative AI ‘Short Courses’

The AI Pedagogy Project from the meta(LAB) at Harvard

A 3-part interactive guide giving faculty the background to feel more comfortable engaging with AI conversations in the classroom–it is designed for the “AI newcomer” but is valuable for anyone wanting a clear overview of AI practices in the classroom. After working through the interactive guide, check out the growing assignment bank that features assignments that help students learn about and critique generative AI use.

A Generative AI Primer from the National Centre for AI

Another overview of generative AI topics and tools produced by a UK nonprofit, this ‘blog guide’ offers details on specific tools commonly used in university classrooms. We recommend looking at section 2.5: Microsoft Co-Pilot and Everyday AI and integrated links. These tools are already showing up in our UMW Microsoft platforms!

Artificial Intelligence Course from LinkedIn

Although not focused on generative AI in an educational setting, this free course provides general background about how these tools function. Specific modules address data collection and ethical concerns. You will learn how groups outside of education view the challenges and potential for generative AI (and get a glimpse of what our students may be expected to know or do).
